Hunting the Cape Buffalo in the Karoo.

Cape Buffalo hunting in the Karoo.
On 12 March 2023 our client's dream came true on our Buffalo hunt in the Karoo. After meeting up with the owners and staff, we shot a few rounds on the shooting range. With the 375H&H hitting the spot, we started our hunt. Our client wanted a proper dagga boy. After a few unsuccessful stalks, we decided that it's time to call it a day, seeing that there was only 2 hours of sun left, but then our spotters informed us that there was buffalo below us in the riverbed.
We hid in the shade after we requested the horse men to get the buffalo to move out of the riverbed in the hope that they will run pass us.
Fortunate for us, our plan worked perfectly. We placed our shooting sticks just in time as the herd started to pass us.
I made the call on the proper dagga boy. He was beautiful, covered in dry mud with big bosses and stunning heavy horns. As the animal came closer, our client put a last bullet into him, to make sure he will be adding this buffalo to his collection. This was his first trophy of the Big 5 in South Africa.
Our client was also able to shoot a beautiful Lechwe on this day.
As the sun set, we started to travel back to our lodge to celebrate our successful hunt for the day.
