Late afternoon on 15 March we set off looking for the surprise we had for Jermey with me not being 100% happy with the first Impala. I managed to get him another one. We drove into the field where we spotted a herd of about 5 rams grazing just on the outside of a stand of trees. We spotted a big ram, but what we did not know, was that the Blesbuck was close by and that made our plans fall through as they spooked the Impala into the bush. 

We spotted a herd about 1200 meters out grazing on a ridge and decided to shift our focus to them. We set off with bush in between us towards them. We managed to get 4 rams about 150 meters from us and out came the shooting sticks right next to the trees what we used as a shield.

With the cross hair on the target, the trigger got squeezed and the bullet hit the spot and sent the Impala off, running about 80 meters before going down. We took videos and photos, loaded the Impala, and returned to the skinning shed. We got invited to have a braai with Seun and his family as he used to work in USA. We had a delicious meal and kuier. We then decided to have some fun and set off to go and shoot some springhare with a shot gun. This was to prevent any more damage to the field where the cattle graze. At about 2am we got back to The Wild Olive and had a few drinks before heading off to bed as we were leaving for Van Stadens resort in Port Elizabeth in just a few hours.
