The breeding of the Yellow and Copper Blesbuck in the Karoo

In the next couple of months, we anticipate the release of our first bredding herds of Yellow and Copper Blesbuck on to our Karoo farm near Jansenville in the Eastern Cape, where we will undertake an intensive breeding project for the next couple of years.
The primary objective of the program is to produce animals with the ideal horn conformation and robust body size that I prefer for my clients.
To prevent inbreeding, which has signifincantly impacts the horns and body development, we expect to have selected rams available for huntin in two to three years. This will however be more the a cull then hunting to prevent in breeding in the herd.
However, to achieve the desire outcome, it is essential to work with the worlsd's top genetics to ensure the right horns conformation and robust body size we looking for.
